You feel involved in the story to the point of looking around to the corners of your room. What wonderful insight to the mostly unseen powers that surround us.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Wings: An Excellent Read, September 27, 2013

If you are sick of reading about vampires and zombies, I definitely recommend this book! Donna Stanley does an amazing job of incorporating the paranormal without writing about the over-used subject matters in most of today’s fiction. This book has a plot readers aren’t likely to forget anytime soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Will make you take spiritual warfare more seriously, September 3, 2013

This book is easy to read and has a clear message that spiritual warfare is real and should be taken seriously. My prayers for my teenage children have been bolstered by the clear and powerful reminder that Donna Stanley portrays in this novel. The Peretti novels of years ago portrayed images of battles taking place and victories won through prayer. Stanley’s book allows the reader to visualize similar battles through the eyes of the characters themselves who see the battles being fought as they pray. It’s not only fascinating, it’s powerful, and you will want to pray harder when you’re finished.

5.0 out of 5 stars So much action in this book!, August 29, 2013

Donna definitely doesn’t waste any time, jumping right into the action of the story in New Wings. Her characters are great and some of their interactions are just priceless…this could easily be the stuff of TV or a movie. Donna keeps the suspense building until just the right moment when things come to their peak.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read!, August 28, 2013

There’s something admirable about a character who recognizes her own flaws and misconceptions and works to change herself, instead of just staying set in her ways. I really like Olivia as a character and think that Donna does a great job of making her believable and realistic in the context of a supernatural world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Such an interesting read for all!, August 26, 2013

I really admire Donna’s initiative in putting her own work out there when she felt that there was something lacking on the teen fiction shelf. Not only did she write for a good cause, she ended up writing a great story too! This definitely should be on the “to-read” list of every teenager who has an interest in the paranormal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Such a Lovely Read!!, August 23, 2013

By

This review is from: New Wings (Paperback)

New Wings does a great job of developing character traits early on. By using an exceptionally perceptive narrator, Donna is able to make her readers feel like we’ve met them before they actually make appearances. A fast-paced narrative that keeps the action coming until the very last page!

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting book, August 22, 2013

This book takes a really unique angle on what it’s like to encounter the supernatural in daily life. Acting as a middleman for her guardian angel, who gifts her with knowledge of her friends’ troubles, Olivia takes on the tasks of trying to better the lives of her friends. In the process, she becomes a better person herself and learns a lot about guardian angels and the demons that shadow and influence certain people in her life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling, Insightful and Full of Heart, August 22, 2013

What a great book! This book will definitely get you thinking and talking about the concept of the supernatural in a family-friendly way that won’t keep you up with nightmares. I really appreciated the gentler take that Donna employed with regards to some of the wilder elements of the story, and thought that this book would be a great one for any teenager’s bookshelf.

They don’t give a rats arse about any food outside of Western Europe. But we live in a profit driven world, so expansion = profit.
